PUBG Corporation is in early talks with telecom company Airtel to distribute PUBG Mobile in India, while talks with Reliance concerning a distribution deal associated with its Jio platform have slowed, according to a report in Entrackr.
Airtel X PUBG Partnership?
“PUBG is in an early conversation with Airtel for delivering distribution rights to the telecom giant. This desperation shows that PUBG has been trying hard to urge back to the Indian market,” a source told the publication on the condition of anonymity.
“The gaming platform is additionally busy in raising a lean team in India. It has been interviewing candidates with experience of under 4 to six years,” the source added.
What about Jio And PUBG Mobile Partnership?
The source also said that talks with Reliance to distribute the sport in India through its Jio platform had slowed. In September, a source in the Indian government confirmed that the talks between PUBG Corporation and Reliance were indeed happening. The same source has also hinted at the government. There were also allegations that the game was “too violent”, adding that there were no plans to lift the ban on the game anytime soon.
